2026 AGM

The Chairman and the Board of Directors invite you to the 2026 BECS Annual General Meeting

On: Tuesday 1 December 2026, 1.30pm – 5.00pm

In: Community Chest Room, 46 New Broad St, London EC2M 1JH

Dear Members,

It’s been another busy and important year for BECS, and I’m delighted to invite you to our 2026 Annual General Meeting.

This year’s AGM is particularly significant as members will elect five Directors to the Board. I am delighted that 15 candidates have put themselves forward for election, demonstrating the strength of commitment and engagement within our membership. Your vote will help shape the future direction of BECS and ensure the Board reflects the views and priorities of the performers it serves.

Artificial intelligence has, understandably, dominated many of the conversations around copyright this year. The pace of change is extraordinary, bringing new possibilities but also significant concerns for performers. BECS continues to work hard to ensure that your rights, your work and your livelihoods remain at the heart of these discussions.

At the same time, we must not allow other important issues to be overlooked. We continue to press for solutions to the loss of statutory income experienced by our members following Brexit, the stalled ratification of the Beijing Treaty, and the need for performers to receive fair remuneration when their work is enjoyed on streaming services.

These are complex and longstanding challenges, but BECS remains determined to make sure that performers have a strong and united voice.

Alongside our campaigning work, we of course continue our core role of collecting and distributing the statutory payments owed to you.

I hope you will join us at the AGM, where we will reflect on the past year, share more about the work taking place on your behalf and look ahead to the challenges and opportunities to come.

Whether or not you are able to attend, I encourage all members to participate in the Director elections and make their voices heard.  With 15 candidates standing for 5 vacancies, every vote matters.

We very much look forward to seeing you there.

Warm regards,

Jean Rogers

BECS Chair
