What We Do
BECS manages and enforces performers’ audiovisual rights in the UK and internationally. We negotiate agreements with collective management organisations worldwide to secure fair payment for performers when their work is used, broadcast, or shared. By ensuring performers are properly remunerated, we help sustain the creative industries and enable continued cultural production.
Why This Matters
A fair and sustainable creative industry benefits everyone. By protecting performers’ rights and ensuring fair pay, BECS contributes to a stronger cultural economy, supports creative careers, and helps maintain a diverse and vibrant creative sector for public enjoyment.
Education and Advocacy
BECS provides education, guidance, and advocacy on performers’ rights, including initiatives such as “Know Your Rights”. We also engage in policy discussions on issues including copyright, artificial intelligence, and fair remuneration, helping to shape a balanced and sustainable future for the creative industries.
BECS is a UK not-for-profit organisation operating for the public benefit. We are committed to equality and do not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, disability, sexual orientation, religion, or background.
